Here’s a tweet I just sent in answer to this question over there:
The Queen’s Gambit by W Tevis is the standout so far.
Normally I gallop through books to see what happens, but with this, I kept putting it down after each chapter to savour the language and make it last longer.
For a quiet, enjoyable read, Olive, Mabel and Me by

I was just notified that The Queen’s Gambit is waiting for me at the library. I was inspired to read it because of your description of the writing. Thanks!
Cheers to living your retirement by your own rules! Keep it up 🙂
Well, you wouldn’t want to live it by anyone else’s rules!

Damn, girl! 20 books! IM.PRESS.IVE!
I just finished Ready Player Two, I devoured it. Its better than Ready Player One.
Of the mighty 20, what has been your favorite(s)?

Ooo! I hope you like it.
I just picked up 3 more books from the library, all from recommendations I saw on Twitter.
Sounds wonderful!!
It wouldn’t be wonderful forever – nothing else would ever get done! – but it’s pretty good right now.
